I'm so indecisive! Please forgive me!

Friday 31 May 2013

Hello everyone! This is probably getting beyond a joke but I've changed my blog URL again! I've finally and i mean finally decided upon a blog name and title that i truly like. It combines my two favourite things as you can probably tell.
Along with my blog url changing my Bloglovin' link has also changed- Follow my blog with Bloglovin
I hope this isn't a huge inconvenience and i hope this hasn't annoyed you too much.

Would You Rather- Beauty Edition

Would You Rather- Beauty Edition

Hello everyone! I hope you're all well. I haven't done a tag post in a while, i think my last one was the winterlicious tag. So today i'm going to do the would you rather tag, which has been floating around youtube for a good couple of years now. But it seems to have made a comeback in the blogging world and i thought i would jump on the bandwagon and do it myself.

1. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
I don't have a great deal of lid space on my eyes anyway, so i think i could live without eyeshadow and i would just line my eyes with an eyeliner and smudge it out. Also mascara is a must to open my eyes up and make me look more awake. Lipstick i'm not too fussed about anyway but it does add a bit of colour to my face.

2. Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
I found this one kinda difficult because i hate having short hair and if i didn't cut it i could have my hair in the pretty plait that Rapunzel has in Tangled (i love that film). But if i cut all my hair off i could just rock some snazzy wigs until it grows back. I can't decide. Next question!

3. Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
Bit of a random question but i'd go for pink because they tend to suit my skin tone more.

4. If you had a £1000 to spend (it was dollars but i'm not american so it's pounds for me) would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
I'd buy clothes without hesitation. Although i haven't posted anything fashion related on my blog (i'm planning to in the future) i do actually prefer clothes over makeup because i can reflect my personality through my clothes more than through the makeup on my face.

5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?
Eyeliner as lipstick because i could always just wear a plum eyeliner and pass it off as vampy lip. But if i wore lipstick as eyeliner, i'd look like i had an eye infection and i'm pretty sure no one wants to look like that.

6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
I live in the UK so we don't have a Sephora but if we did i would shop there because i like to have a variety of products and brands to pick from. Plus if i could only shop at MAC i would get bored of it pretty quickly.

7. Would you rather only use one eye shadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
I'm not too fussed about lipstick anyway so i'd happily use one lip colour for the rest of my life. I also like to experiment with eye shadows more because manipulating your eye shape with eye shadow can instantly transform your face.

8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in the summer or summer clothes in the winter?
Well in the UK our summers either non-existent or mildly warm so i'd wear winter clothes in the summer. Our winters are also freezing so there's no way on gods green earth i'd be wearing shorts and a vest top during that season.

9. Would you rather wear dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Seasons don't really dictate to me what nail polish i should wear and i mostly wear bright colours anyway because those are generally the colours i prefer.

10. Would you rather give up your favourite lip product or your favourite eye product?
I'd give up my favourite lip product because my favourite eye product is mascara and that makes more of a difference to my face than lipstick and i can't live without mascara!

11. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or messy bun?
Neither looks good on me so i'm going to cheat and say a fishtail braid.

12. Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?
Well this one was easy, never use lip gloss because i don't use it anyway. I hate the texture and look of lip gloss.

13. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?
I don't do anything with my eyebrows as it is now (that's probably really shameful). But i'd shave them off and as i shave them i'll mark with an eyebrow pencil where they were so i don't get wonky eyebrows. I can use stencils as well and change my eyebrows as and when i feel like it. I don't think i could pull off sharpie eyebrows either.

14. Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
This question was tough but i'd have to live without nail polish. Although i love wearing nail polish, i can't leave my house without makeup on, i look like something from night of the living dead without makeup.

I hope you enjoyed this post.

Spring Favourites

Monday 27 May 2013

Hello everyone! As you can probably tell i'm not very good at keeping up with favourites posts, i think I've posted only two since starting my blog. However, that's all going to change. I'm now going to start posting seasonal favourites rather than monthly ones because to be honest i don't  like enough products in one month to warrant a post. Hopefully with this change it will give me more time to discover and try out products before i decide whether or not i like them. Hopefully you like this change too.
Anyway, lets move on to the the post which is my Spring Favourites! This season is almost over (thank god because in Britain it's been pretty rubbish) and i'd like to share with you the products I've enjoyed using.

Top row: Nivea Smooth Nourishing hand cream/ Rimmel nail polish- 053 Apricot Punch/ Rimmel nail polish- 500 Peppermint/ Rimmel nail polish- 431 Stormy Skies/ W7 Flirty Eyes mascara
Bottom row: Sleek blush- Mirrored Pink/ NYC Smooth Skin pressed powder

Nivea Smooth Nourishing hand cream (Review coming soon)

This has been a savior for me recently. My hands have been in terrible condition due to the ever changing British weather but this has sorted them right out. I wont say too much because i will be reviewing this soon, so you'll get a more detailed overview in that post.

W7 Flirty Eyes mascara - Review Here

This is my new favourite daytime mascara. It lengths, separates and holds the curl of my lashes extremely well. I have reviewed this so if you want to know more just go and check it out.

Rimmel Lasting Finish nail polish- Apricot Punch

I wore this shade round about the beginning of spring and i love it. I purchased it last year, i'm not sure whether it's still being sold because it is from the fruities range which claims that the polish leaves a fruity scent when it dries. I can tell you know this does not smell fruity! It just smells like a concoction of chemicals and i find the smell quite sickly if i'm honest. However bad smells aside, this polish is perfect for spring it's bright fun and makes me look more tanned.

Rimmel Professional Finish nail polish- Peppermint

I'm a sucker for anything pastel and nail polish is no exception. I love pastel nails for spring, especially mint greens. I believe this polish would look great with or without a tan. The brush on this is huge which makes applying the polish so quick and easy. It lasts for a good week before it chips. I 'd highly recommend this range of polishes.

Rimmel Professional Finish nail polish- Stormy Skies

I'm currently wearing this shade right now and although it's not a very spring-like colour i'm thoroughly enjoying wearing it. It's muted enough to be a nice neutral everyday colour and makes a change from the usual taupes and beiges. I can see this being a colour i'll wear all year round.

NYC Smooth Skin Pressed Powder- Review Here

I'm not going to go into too much detail about this because i have already posted a review. All i have to say is that it lasts well, it leaves a nice finish on my skin and sets my makeup well. However i am annoyed at the fact I've hit pan so early after only using it for a few weeks.

Sleek Aqua Collection Blush- Mirrored Pink (Review coming soon)

I actually won this blush in Jen's from JeneralRambling 100 follower giveaway, go check out her blog it's amazing! I haven't been using this blush long but i can see why she didn't want to give it away, it's such a gorgeous colour! It gives such a pretty glow to the cheeks and warms up my complexion too. It's a lovely peachy pink with hints of gold and pink shimmer. I'm probably going to continue wearing this right through till summer. Unfortunately it was limited edition but i'm sure there's loads of dupes out there that are similar.

What are your current favourites for spring?

W7 Flirty Eyes Mascara Review

Tuesday 21 May 2013

Hello everyone! I hope you're all well. I have another (yes another) review for you today. I got suckered into buying this product when i was queuing up to buy some socks from my local peacocks; are there anymore of those open anywhere or is it just my town. Anyway, i noticed this mascara on the display counter near the till and i was in need of a new one and for £3 i thought i'd give it a go.

The sleek and simple packaging drew me in. W7 has definately had a makeover, i always thought their previous packaging looked cheap.

What really caught my eye the most was the wand, I've never seen or used a wand with this shape. The wand is plastic with short, closely-spaced bristles.

I have to say for the price this mascara is pretty damn good! The formula is just right, it's not too dry or too wet. It does look very clumpy on the wand which made me hesitate slightly putting it on. But it combs through my lashes nicely, it separates them, it holds a curl very well and adds length and a little bit of volume.
I'm very fortunate that i have naturally long, thick, curly lashes so i don't tend to splash out on a mascara to get the look i want anyway. This for me is the perfect daytime mascara. It makes me look wide awake and makes me eyes look pretty big as well. I tried to get some photos of me wearing the mascara but the quality was rubbish. All i can say is if you're looking for a mascara that gives length and holds a curl, this one is probably for you.
You can purchase W7 cosmetics from Here.

Have you tried any W7 cosmetics?

NYC Smooth Skin Pressed Face Powder Review

Friday 17 May 2013

Hello everyone! I have another review for you today. I recently ran out of my favourite face powder which is the Collection Pressed Powder in ivory- Review Here. I made a quick trip into my local Boots but they didn't have it, so i then went to Superdrug who also didn't have it. I needed a powder as it's essential for keeping my oily skin at bay, i noticed the NYC pressed powder and i like their loose powder so i thought i'd try out the pressed form.

I picked up the translucent one because although it doesn't look translucent, it has a neutral tone  , which suits my skin. It comes with a sponge applicator but i threw it away because i use my own powder puff to apply it which helps my makeup stay put.
I really enjoy using this powder, it's very fine and doesn't settle into my pores. It lasts for a good 4-5 hours before i need to re-apply. It doesn't disturb the colour of my foundation and does a great job of mattifying my oily skin.
The packaging looks and feels very cheap but for £1.99 you get what you pay for. I haven't had any incidents with it smashing yet though (touch wood).
I think this powder will be great as a substitute for when i can't get hold of the Collection powder.
You can purchase this from Superdrug.

Have you tried this product?

Holika Holika Petit BB Cream Review

Saturday 11 May 2013

Hello everyone! Long time no speak, i know it's been a while and i did say i was taking a break from blogging. But i miss writing posts for you all, so I've got a quick, cheeky review for you.
I don't know about you but on those days wear you don't want to wear much makeup but you still want a bit of coverage i always reach for a BB cream, especially Asian BB creams. Now i'm not bashing western BB creams because there are some good ones out there but i personally prefer Asian ones. My favourite one is the Baviphat BB cream, but i thought i'd branch out and try something new so i ordered myself one from Holika Holika because i'd heard pretty good things about it.

I was instantly drawn in by the pale turquoise packaging, it's simple and cute, with a small cat motif which is prominent in a lot of their cosmetics. I do apologize for the slightly grubby packaging.

It comes in a squeezy tube which i quite like because it means you can cut it in half to get the leftover product out. Although you can waste product if you're not careful when you squeeze it.

When i first tried out this product i actually didn't like it. But after figuring out the best way to apply it; i do this by buffing it into my skin. I now really enjoy using it, i brought the "clearing" one which is designed for oily/ spot prone skin. I don't know whether or not it has any spot fighting benefits because i can't read the writing on the tube. Anyway, back to the product, it gives great coverage, the finish is slightly dewy but it does lean more towards a satin finish. If i'm wearing this to sixth form then i do set it with a powder to make it last most of the day but if i'm lounging around the house i wont bother.
The only downside to this product is the shade range, like most BB creams the shades that are offered are very limited ranging from 3-4. But this brand only has one that i know of. It is slightly too yellow for my skin tone because mine is neutral and it is a shade too dark but when it's buffed in and powdered it's not noticeable. I think this will suit me more in the summer months.

I do apologize for my dry, slightly red hand but it's in the process of recovering from the awful British weather.

I will still use this until it runs out but i think i'm going to repurchase the trusty Baviphat BB cream next time. I purchased this from Ebay for around £5 with free P+P.

Have you tried this yet?
