Festive Lush Haul

Sunday 22 December 2013

Hello everyone! Lush has got to be a bloggers haven for a fun bath time. However even though I've always liked the look of lush products and the concept behind it I've never actually purchased anything from them...until now!

Top Row: Candy Mountain Bubble Bar, Snowman Bath Bomb, Luxury Lush Pud Bath Bomb, Butterball Bath Bomb
Bottom Row: Dream Time Luxury Bath Melt, Santa's Lip Scrub, Mint Julips Lip Scrub

(They did accidentally put the wrong label on this product but I just reminded my mom that it's a bath melt not a massage bar. It's an easy mistake but I didn't mind)

I saw the Christmas collection and decided I would finally try some of their products. My package arrived on Friday and as soon as I opened it, my room smelt delicious!

I brought the Butterball bath bomb and Dream Time bath melt for my mom because she wants to try some of the products too and she wanted some things that were calming and these seemed right up her street and so far she loves the smell. She hasn't used them yet but I'll update you in a later post. Speaking of posts I will be reviewing each one of the products Individually so you will see close ups and more pictures.
I also brought the Mint Julips lip scrub for my boyfriend because he's always complaining that his lips get dry and flaky and I knew he wouldn't go out and get one, so I got one for him instead.
As for me I wanted to get into the full festive spirit and what better way to do that than with a bath bomb that looks like a snowman and one that looks like a Christmas pudding! I think I'm going to cut the lush pud in half and get two baths out of it because it's pretty big. The snowman bath bomb is exactly like the Butterball one but I wanted it instead because it looked adorable.
I got the Candy Mountain bubble bar because it looked adorable and girly. It smells delicious and I can't wait to use it. I'll probably cut this one it pieces as well and get a few uses out of it.
I finally brought the Santa's lip scrub because my lips have also been getting dry because of the cold weather. I was torn between this scrub and the popcorn one but the cute little hearts inside the jar won me over.
All these can be purchased on the Lush website.
I definately want to try more products from Lush, I think I might try the Cupcake face mask once I've used up the other masks I'm trying out.

What Lush products have you recently brought?

The Reading Corner: Extras

Wednesday 18 December 2013

Hello everyone! I hope you're all well. A couple of weeks back I finished another book but I had so many other posts I wanted to write first this one got theft aside but I finally have the time to give you my thoughts on the book called Extras.

This book is a follow on from the Uglies series, it is the last installment from the series and is set after the Uglies books. It's about a girl called Aya who is a "kicker" and wants to increase her face rank and become famous in her city. Aya stumbles upon a secret group called the Sly Girls she wants to make their story a headline however she finds something else that is even more "famous-making". You'll just have to read the book to find out what it is!
I really enjoyed this book. However I got a little sad after reading it knowing it was the last ever book in the Uglies series. It was a great book that ended the series nicely.
I highly recommend checking it out for yourselves.

Do you have any book recommendations?

NOTW: Festive Glitz

Sunday 15 December 2013

Hello everyone! I hope you're all well, I really wanted to share my nail polish this week because it's perfect for the Christmas season and looks so festive.

I saw the new Brocades collection of nail polishes from Maybelline in Boots when I was buying a new nail file. I'm usually not one for glitter nail polishes but I saw them and thought they looked so pretty and festive I had to try one. I chose the gold glitter called knitted gold.
I decided to pair it with lychee from Barry M and it's looks subtle yet fun. Knitted Gold has a gold shimmer with different sized and shaped gold and pink glitters. It lasted without a top coat for about 5 days which I think is great when you don't have time for touch ups.
I want to get the red glitter polish next time I'm in Boots. They can be purchased for £3.99.

What festive nails have you currently got?
Thank you for stopping by!

MCM Expo Birmingham 2013 Haul

Wednesday 11 December 2013

Hello everyone, I hope you're all well. Last month I went to MCM Expo and purchased a few things, my boyfriend also brought me some items which were early birthday presents (it was my birthday yesterday, yaay). So I thought I'd show you what I got.

I apologise for some of the items of clothing being creased but they have been worn and washed already because I couldn't wait to wear them.
There were so many stalls at the convention it took me the whole Sunday to get and have a proper look at what each stall was offering.
The cat-bee t-shirt and the Japanese t-shirt were from a stall called Cakes With Faces (website here ) and was owned by the lovely Amy who was dressed in a cute Japanese outfit, she was super friendly and cheerful. I couldn't resist buying these t-shirts because they were just too cute!
The joker and captain Jack t-shirts were from Bad 'N' Crazy (website here ) who sold a variety of quirky t-shirts I purchased these because they're so cool!
The dress was purchased by my amazing boyfriend, I saw the stall that this was on and I wanted so many of the dresses there but this was the only one in my size. It fits perfectly and is handmade too! The company is called Geek La Chic (website here ). I'm definately going to buy more dresses from them.
The espeon and umbreon hats were purchased from Tokyo Toys (website here ) this was by far the busiest stall but these were the only things that caught my eye. I love cute hats and I decided I needed these in my life.
The Kero-chan hat was purchased from a little stall selling hats and plushies. I unfortunately don't know the name of the stall but I'm sure you could find one easily enough on ebay. I loved Card Captors as a child and Kero is one of the characters from the series, I saw it and it was the only one left. So I added it to my hat collection.
Finally the accessories were purchased from a number of independent sellers, I love cute jewellery and these all caught my eye. The goggles and Totoro necklace were from Kitsch ( their EBay name is ILoveKitsch2004). The BMO necklace was handmade and is from the Etsy store geeniejay.etsy.com. The Moomin necklace is from Dragon Dreads (website here ) and finally the Arwin Evenstar necklace is from Canvas Warrior (website here ).

Maybe you'll find some cute jewellery for yourself or someone else from these websites.
Thank you for stopping by!
